Clément Langlois-Légaré, also known as "Pops," is the guitarist and musical director of the Montreal-based band Clay and Friends.

 

A versatile musician with a background in film scoring and composition, Clément plays a pivotal role in crafting the band’s signature blend of hip-hop, soul, and funk, a sound they’ve dubbed La Musica Popular de Verdun.

 

Since the band’s inception in 2014, Clément has helped drive Clay and Friends to over 1,850 live performances across Canada and Europe, building a reputation for genre-bending, high-energy shows.

 

Under his artistic direction, the band has earned critical acclaim, including a Félix Award at the 2023 Gala de l’ADISQ for “Live Show of the Year – Multilingual,” and a Gémeaux Award for “Best Musical Theme (Infoman 2022).”

 

Clément’s studio work includes co-writing and producing hits like “Going Up The Coast” (certified Gold by Music Canada), with streaming numbers surpassing 20 million plays on Spotify alone.

He’s also worked with numerous known artists such as Alessia Cara, Becky Hill, Sia, FouKi, Ridgely, Meghan Trainor, Sarahmée, Preston Pablo, Amel Bent, Amir, JP Cooper, La Zarra, Preston Pablo, Niro, LaF, Ella Eyre, Marie-Mai, Koriass, Benny Adam, Imposs, Corneille and many more.
